Why Is the Cross the Symbol of Jesus? Why is the Cross - a source of a painful, torturous death - the primary symbol of Jesus Christ and Christianity? The answer lies in the riddle posed by the presence of the Cross in Jesus' earthly life. The Bible states that Jesus Christ was, and is, the One and Only Son of the Living God. The Bible also tells us that Jesus became a human being and taught us how to live. Primarily, however, Jesus came to live among us to die on the Cross for our Sins . Three days later, he bodily rose from death - to live and reign forever at the right hand of God. The question of Jesus' life, death and resuurection is this: Why would God send his Son to die for our sins? That is the mystery and wonder of Jesus. We at DIBC hope that you'll use the resources in this page to learn about Jesus and his Message. It is our prayer that as you discover the wonder of Jesus that you will find the everlasting Life that can be found in Him.
