Pastor Chris Schansberg

Coming to Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of 14, Chris experienced a call to Christian ministry shortly thereafter. Chris was ordained to Christian ministry in 1995 and has been the pastor of Dauphin Island Baptist Church since 1998. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from George Mason University and a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Chris is the author of Reasons to Believe: Evidence for the Christian Message (2004), Science, Evolution and Christianity—Partners in Truth or Antagonists? (2010), and Pastor Chris’ Blog (cschansberg.blogspot.com). Chris is featured weekly in the This Week at Dauphin Island Baptist Church podcast. Chris has spoken to churches and audiences throughout the southeastern United States. He is currently the Moderator of the Mobile Baptist Association. Chris is married to his wife, Lee, and they have three children.

Lee Schansberg
Director of Music and Resort Ministry Coordinator

Lee has served as the Director of Music since 2000. Lee seeks to glorify God and encourage God's people through music leadership. Lee holds an undergraduate degree in Music from Mississippi College and a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Lee has sung at churches throughout the Southern and Southeastern United States and in Canada. Lee also leads in Worship through Concert Events.

Since 2002, Lee has also served as the Resort Ministry Coordinator of our Resort Ministry Center. In this role, Lee helps our RMC guests to fulfill their mission purposes in their visit to our Church.
