WELCOME

Welcome to Dauphin Island Baptist Church where our doors are wide open to you – whether you are just beginning to seek God or a committed Christian. Our church intends to meet you where you are. Our community experiences dynamic worship, close community and the presence of Jesus in a wonderful way.

We are driven by two purposes. First, to love God with all we are and all we have. Second, to reach out with God’s love to those around us. Whether it be our Sunday morning worship event, our Wednesday Children’s program, a small group event or our many other ministries, we seek to be a constant channel of Jesus’ presence.

So whether you’re looking for a community where you can discover God for the first time, or if you are a believer looking for a place to grow and serve, you are welcome here. You will find that this is a place where you really matter – because you matter to God.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Bible

The Bible to be the infallible Word of God, that it is His holy and inspired Word, and that it is of supreme and final authority. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)

Deity of Jesus Christ

In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ. That he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He led a sinless life, took on Himself all our sins, died and rose again, is seated at the right hand of the Father as our mediator and advocate. We believe he will personally return in power and glory. (John 1:1-4; Matthew 1:23; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 & 4:15; Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24; I Corinthians 15:3-4)

Judgement

That all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, and need to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through His shed blood on the cross. (Romans 3:21-26)

Salvation

We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. (Titus 3:4-7; Luke 24:46-47; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Acts 4:12)

Resurrection

That Christ rose from the dead and is coming soon. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8, Revelation 3:11 & 22:12)

Christian Living

In holy Christian living, and that we must have concern for the hurts and social needs of our fellowmen. (Matthew 5:48 & 22:37-39, Luke 10:25-37)

Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life. (Galatians 5:16-18 & 5:22-23; Romans 8:9)

Resurrection of All

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved will experience the resurrection and eternal life; those who are lost will be resurrected to punishment and eternal separation from God. (Revelation 20:11-15; I Corinthians 15:51-57)

Unity

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church. (John 17:11, Ephesians 1:22-23; I Corinthians 12:12, 27)

Ministry

We believe that the ministry of evangelism is a responsibility of both the church and each Christian. Romans 10:9-15; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:18-20; I Peter 3:15.

Service

We must dedicate ourselves anew to the service of our Lord and to His authority over our lives. (1 Peter 3:15, 1 John 1:7)

Communicating

In using every modern means of communication available to us to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. (Matthew 28:18-20, Philemon 1:6)

One God, Three Persons

In one God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6)
